

National team golfers Mutebi Deco and Oluba Robert scored a total of 73 gross to have a joint day one lead at the 6th Edition of the Castle lite Entebbe Open Golf Tourney that got underway on Thursday.
Registering a total three birdies on holes 5, 13 and 18 and bogies on hole 3, 7, 8, 9, 16 and 10 par score Mutebi got a day one lead.
Action resumes Friday with Adolf Muhumuza leading Team Uganda in day two in which they play 36 holes. Professional Golfers will also be in action on Friday at the Lake side Entebbe Club and will be battling for seven million shillings cash prize (Shs 7m)

Meanwhile Kenya’s Alfred Nandwa registered two under par 69 score to return the best score for Team Kenya in the opening round of the East African Community Shield. Team Kenya leads day one with a six stroke lead with 217 gross.
Nandwa, who plays for Railways Golf Club in Nairobi, had a total of 7 birdies on hole 4, 5, 7, 11,14,15,18.
Uganda finished second with 223 gross. Team Uganda captain Adolf Muhumuza and Ronald Rugumayo returned the best score with two over par 73.
Rwanda lies third with a total of 243 gross while Burundi finished fourth with 257 gross. Tanzania isn’t taking part in the sixth Edition of the Entebbe Golf Open Tournament due to lack of logistics.
