Uganda Sand Cranes will have to beat Ghana with a resounding margin in the second leg scheduled to take place on Sunday March 22 in Accra after losing 9-6 in the first leg encounter held at sports Beach Entebbe on Sunday March 15. The Ghana Black Sharks arrived at Entebbe International Airport at 1255hrs aboard an Emirates passenger Flight four hours to the match kick off and quickly regained their composure after a long hour’s flight from Accra via Dubai to Entebbe.
Ghana’s captain Micheal Sema and Alexander Adye scored a hat trick and two braces respectively while Lampteu Mathew ad Isaac Ofori each scored a goal apiece to give the Balck Sharks a resounding victory. Goals for Sand Cranes came from Captain Tekkwo Derrick (1), Kasujja Davis (1), Lukooya Baker (1), Brian Nkuubi (1), Somoka Roch (1) and Naturinda Ambrose (1).
Blacks Sharks Coach Theophilius Mii Armah attributed the victory to playing regular international friendly matches which has enabled his side gain the much needed Beach Soccer experience after the game was introduced in the West African Nation three years ago.
“The match wasn’t easy at all but we won because of experience and nothing else. It takes a lot of experience to play Beach Soccer and I’m glad that the Black Sharks have gained the experience after playing in several international friendly matches” Ghana Coach Armah told the media shortly after the match.
“The Black Sharks played well, they listened to my instructions and I’m happy that after the tedious journey we have managed to get an away victory” Armah added.
Meanwhile Sand cranes coach Haruna Kebba revealed that his side needs to improve before they visit Ghana for the second leg match to be held on Sunday March 22 at the LA Beach Arena Accra.
Several Beach soccer fans had no kind words for Coach Haruna Kebba after he opted to drop Beach Soccer 2014/15 league top scorer Phillip Lwezawula and Emma Kalyowa for the Ghana match.
