CAA Shines At The International Trade Council Summit In USA.


UCAA received the ‘Going Global’ Award at the International Trade Council summit in Chicago, USA.


As a result of It’s tireless efforts in fostering customer care services, infrastructure improvements, training of staff and contribution towards supporting tourism and Agricultural exports facilitated through Entebbe International Airport, Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has yet again been recognized by the International Trade Council (ITC) with the ‘Going Global’ award (2019) as the government agency of the year in the Aviation category.

UCAA which continues to be a torchbearer among the Civil Aviation Authorities in Africa, was recognized at the International Trade Council Summit that was held in Chicago, USA on October 23, 2019. UCAA’s Dr. Tom Davis Wasswa, Manager, Marketing and Commercial Services received the award.

The ‘Going Global’ award has been received a month after the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recognized Uganda with the ICAO Council President’s Certificate in recognition of its efforts to resolve aviation security deficiencies at the ICAO Assembly in Montreal, Canada on September 24, 2019.

The ICAO Award was in recognition of an outstanding performance in the 2017 Universal Security Audit Programme – continuous monitoring approach (USAP-CMA) in which Uganda scored 81.8 percent above the global average of 73 percent and the African and Indian Ocean states average of 58 percent.
