Entebbe International Airport land lords Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has pumped shs 10.6m into the 2015 Edition of the Rwabushenyi Annual memorial chess tourney which will be getting underway on Saturday December 5 at the Hotel Africana. Speaking at the handover of the cheque on Friday CAA Director For Human Resource and Administration Fred Bamwesigye indicated that sponsoring the game of chess is part of the organization’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and it’s geared towards keeping alive the memory of the late Rwabushenyi one of the founding members of chess in Uganda and who at the time of his death was CAA Director of Airports. He passed away a decade ago.

Sponsoring the Rwabushenyi Annual Memorial chess championship is part of our corporate social responsibility during the Aviation week which commenced on December 1 and will be climaxing on December 7. Supporting the game of chess has been our baby because Late Rwabushenyi was a founding member of the chess federation and we shall ensure that chess continues to grow in Uganda Bamwesigye told a press conference on Friday at the CAA Head Quarters in Entebbe.

The week long tournament which will be climaxing on December 12 has attracted players from across the border who will be participating in the open category and which comprises of both men and women. Ladies will also be battling for the top prize under the Women category.
