Ruth Kojo, a businesswoman who allegedly killed her hubby the late Steven Suuna was on Tuesday acquitted by High court Judge Dr. Justice Joseph Murangira. She was acquitted with her co-accused Alex Michael Maringa whom prosecution failed to adduce evidence against him.

Though five witnesses testified in court pinning down Ruth Kojo to killing her hubby Steven Suuna who was razed with petrol in 2013 in their marital home in Kajjansi Town council, the key state witness failed to turn up in court to testify against the two accused persons.

In his ruling, Dr. Justice Joseph Murangira told court that he received a letter dated 13 June 2017 from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) terminating criminal proceedings against the two accused persons. “I hereby discharge the accused persons and they’re now set free. You go and leave in peace and try to behave better than you used to behave, “Justice Murangira stated.
