The two months long inaugural Nalugala Boda Boda Parish football tournament came to a grand climax on Saturday after Bulega F.C were crowned Champions. Bulega eased past Garuga (A) in the finals after Osbert Namanya scored a wonderful corner kick in the first half that sent the team and the fans in an ecstatic moment. Bulega skipper Ivan Selunkuma put up an impressive display and kept the Garuga side busy. Bulega continue to pile pressure on the Garuga side in the second half however all the shots didn’t yield much. Osbert Namanya’s lone goal sealed Bulega’s victory and they walked away with a goat, medals and two footballs.
Nalugala (B) were crowned Netball Champions after they beat Nalugala (A) Side 8-4 in the finals. Bulega, Sinde, Bukaya, Kasekera, Kaboona, Garuga A and Garuga B were the teams that participated in the Inaugural tournament.
The Katabi LCIII Chairman Ronald Kalema who was Chief Guest congratulated all the participating teams and donated a ball to each team and donated two sets of jerseys to the winning teams and the runners’ ups. Kalema also vowed to continue fighting land grabbers who have been plotting to grab the play ground.
