Black Market Records CEO Cedric Singleton has opened up about allegations of exploitation from the former artists under his label.
Taking to social media platforms over the weekend, Felista Di Superstar expressed frustration, accusing Black Market Records of years of exploitation. She claimed that the label copyrighted all the music she made during and after their contract, but didn’t give her any money out of it.
When she visited the label offices to ask for her royalties, they allegedly gave her excuses, and not long after that, she lost access to her YouTube Channel.
Cedric, during a radio interview, denied the allegations of exploitation, explaining that as a label, they ended their contract with Felista because she was not making them any money.

He alleged that they continuously spent thousands of dollars investing in Felista Di Superstar’s music and trying to market her, but unfortunately, she didn’t make any returns. Contrary to Felista’s claims, Cedric revealed that all her songs only amounted to 200K shillings, which they later realized was not worth it, and three years ago, they decided to drop her as their artist.

Despite their contract not working out, Cedric admitted that Felista was a talented artist and wished her well in her music career.
“We released Felista from our contract in 2023, three years ago, because we weren’t making any money. We were continuing to spend money, but we were not making any money. The entire time we were with Felista, her videos made like 200K, but we lost thousands of dollars working with her until we decided it was better we parted ways because neither of us was making any money. She is a talented artist, and we wish her well,” he said
