Entebbe Club Caddies Golf Tournament which got underway on Monday December 15 saw Entebbe club based caddy Birungi Tom emerge victorious in the men’s category with 78 gross while Nalutaaya Resty swung to victory in the ladies category with 86 gross.
Birungi registered pars on holes 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, he also registered a birdie on hole 14 and boggies on holes 1, 2 and 3.
“I am grateful to my brother Byamukama Vincent who lent me his kitty for this tournament. I am also grateful to my sponsor who has sponsored me to take part in this tournament” Birungi told entebbenews.
The twenty year old who begun working as a caddy in 2008 at Entebbe Club says he was inspired by his brother Byamukama Vincent who plays as a professional.
“My brother Vincent really inspired me to join the Golf sporting fraternity and I hope in the next five year I’ll also be playing golf fulltime” he said
Overall winner ladies Nalutaaya Resty registered birdies on holes 1, 4, 14, 18, 10 and double boggies on holes 8 and 15.
Meanwhile Ajidra Collins beat Kato Samuel on count back with 81 gross to top group A while Wambi Samuel also won on count back with 82 gross to top group B , Kamoga Brian emerged as first runner up in Group B.
Jingo Tom topped Group C slot with 85 gross while Mwesigye Daniel emerged first runner up with 88 gross, he beat Katamba Umar on count back.
Namutebi Agnes emerged Group A winner with 94 gross while Kwagala Catherine beat Kisakye Evelyne on count back with 120 gross to top Group B. Over 78 caddies took part in the fourth caddies Golf Tournament.
