The social media back and forth between Ugandan singer Bebe Cool and former Miss Rwanda Jolly Mutesi has taken a new twist after her lawyers officially issued a notice of intention to sue over defamation.
Jolly, through her lawyers at Mbidde & Co. Advocates, acknowledged that they took notice of Bebe Cool’s fraud allegations on his X account from yesterday, as he accused the former beauty queen of scamming him last year.
Mutesi’s legal team confirmed that their client had never engaged in any dealings or correspondence whatsoever with Bebe Cool, and that the phone number he shared, claiming it belonged to Mutesi, is fraudulent, unauthorized, and bears no connection to her identity.
They noted that Jolly had issued statements in 2024 warning the general public against imposters using her identity for fraudulent purposes.

Bebe was hereby required to immediately cease from any further publication of defamatory statements, issue a full published retraction expressly withdrawing the allegations, and publish a written apology in terms approved by them.

This was to be done in 48 hours, and failure to do so, they would proceed with legal action. Following Chief of Defence Forces (UPDF) Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s involvement in the matter, he advised Bebe Cool to delete all the posts linking Jolly to fraud and apologize for the damages caused.
Bebe Cool was so quick to comply, and Jolly Mutesi confirmed making peace with the Gagamel boss and singer.
