KCB Group Plc has entered into a definitive agreement with shareholders of Trust Merchant Bank (TMB) to acquire a majority stake in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)-based lender. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the third quarter of 2022, subject to regulatory, shareholders and other approvals. This will see KCB acquire 85% of the shares in TMB while the existing shareholders will continue to hold the balance for a period of not less than 2 years after which, KCB will acquire their shares. Uganda Police in Nansana have arrested two suspects in connection to the murder of Bukenya Imran, 9, who disappeared on July 9,2022 as per the case report at the Wamala police post. The two suspects are Ssemaganyi Eria and Ssalongo Bweseri who are detained at Nansana main station to help in investigations. President Museveni has commissioned 102 Special Forces Command (SFC) officers housing units at Kambarage Nyerere quarters at Lunyo in Entebbe Municipality and promised to ensure the lowest ranking officer earns at least Shs 1m. The housing units were constructed by the SFC Engineering Unit. The construction started on March 28, 2022 and was completed within three months. Each housing unit has three bedrooms, a living room and is self- contained with a kitchen and store. Each three-bedroom house cost Shs 71 million.
