Ndejje University Civil Engineering student Joel Adupa cruised to victory at the 2nd Beach Wood ball circuit that was held at Sports Beach on Sunday. Playing a total of 12 gates, Adupa returned a total of 42 strokes to emerge winner of the day in Men’s Singles Category. He beat his closest challenger Israel Muwanguzi from Ndejje Woodball Club with two strokes. Ajoba Faustine from Ndejje University finished third with 46 strokes. Adupa Joel now tops the log with 94 points. Kamoga Collins and Kawumba Ronald are 2ndand 3rd with 88 and 86 points respectively.
Nantege Shamsa from Ndejje Woodball Club was overall winner in the ladies category with a total of 49 strokes. She tied with Ndejje University’s Joan Mukoova who also returned the identical score. Ndejje University’s Joyce Nalubega finished third with 54 strokes. However Uganda’s top seed Zawedde Lillian retains the top ranking on the points log despite finishing 4th on the day. She has accumulated 63 points. Mukoova Joan and Namuddu Sophia are ranked 2nd and 3rd with 62 and 56 points respectively.
Elsewhere Adupa Joel and Kawumba Ronald pair claimed the Men’s doubles victory with 46 strokes while Victoria Nankabirwa and Nantege Shamsa pair won the women’s double category with 51 strokes. Athieno Mary and Ajoba Faustine returned 46 strokes to finish top in the mixed Doubles category.
Playing a total of 6 gates, Ndejje Corporate Club’s Joshua Kataghado and Juliet Nakawunde returned a total of 24 and 29 strokes to emerge overall winners in the Men’s and women’s category.
The one day tournament attracted participants from Reigner’s Woodball Club, Ndejje Corporate Club, Centenary Bank, Buganda Youth Council, St. Joseph’s Technical Institute Kisubi, Buganda Land Board, Stroke Woodball Club, Bank of Uganda, UNEB Woodball Team, MUBS, Botladz Woodball Club, Ndejje University, Ndejje Woodball Club and Zoe Woodball Club.
