Mayor Vincent Kayanja DePaul has lashed out at former Entebbe municipality LCIII Division B Chairman Joseph Ssesanga over his baseless criticism and continued lack of alternative ideas for the people of Entebbe Municipality. Ssesanga an NRM die hard politician has vowed to unseat Kayanja in the 2016 general elections and is traversing the town begging for votes in addition to painting Kayanja black.
However Kayanja has rubbished all Ssesanga’s claims as baseless adding that he is ready to battle it out with him for the Mayor ship position in next year’s general elections.
“I’m not scared of Ssesanga and I’m ready to battle it out with him. He was in power for almost ten years but he failed to even collect garbage from the streets” Kayanja stated.
“But the people of Entebbe are educated and they cannot be deceived by opportunistic politicians like Ssesanga. Criticism is welcome and is expected because I believe no one is an angel” he added.
Commenting on former’s Vice President Gilbert Bukenya’s recent meeting with Democratic Party leaders, Kayanja says that all parties want leaders and bringing on a high profile leader like Gilbert Bukenya is welcome news for the Democratic Party.
“Bukenya is welcome to the Democratic Party because we in DP we look for leaders with brains and Bukenya happens to be a man of brains” he said.
On the just concluded Nigeria Presidential elections Kayanja says that it was a good land mark for Nigeria.
“The peaceful Presidential elections have been the maturity year for Nigeria as a country and this has shown that people are the owners of power. This is a lesson to other African leaders to respect the people’s will” Kayanja noted.
“Peaceful transition of power still remains a challenge in Africa but Goodluck Jonathan conceded defeat and congratulated his rival Muhammadu Buhari” he continued.
“My message to leaders is that we are mortal beings, we didn’t begin with this world neither will it end with us” Kayanja stressed.
He also described outgoing president Goodluck Jonathan as a real statesman and a role model who will remain a strong reference point in Africa.
