Celebrated songwriter and singer Dokta Brain, real name Nkwanga Geoffrey Adam, has opened up about the challenging situations in his life that almost pushed him to quit doing music and become a ghostwriter.

Dokta Brain, during his interview with BBS TV, noted that he was going through personal challenges and he wanted to walk away from being a known songwriter. He desired to become a ghostwriter whose job was to write material for other artists and have them named as the writers of his work.

“Initially, I just wanted to disappear. I wanted to have it that when I enter the studio, the artist shouldn’t mention that I’m the one that wrote the song apart from those who know me. I wanted to be a ghost writer and see whether I would come back to music as just an entrepreneur because since music is a calling, it will still look,” he said.

But while scrolling on the internet, he saw a video of Lil Pazo, who had listed people he was doing better than financially, despite them having their breakthrough before him, and he was on that list.

This motivated him to release his song ‘Bikyaganye ‘, which has turned out to be a blessing and is currently trending number one on YouTube.

“When I released that song, I thought people would take it that I was looking for sympathy yet I wanted to just disappear. Surprisingly, it has hit milestones that I had never seen. I have never been at number 1 on YouTube ever since I started doing music. But it was because of this song. To imagine I had many other songs lined up. If I had not released it, I would be nowhere,” he said.
