Musician Ava Peace has opened up about the domestic violence she experienced during her past relationship.

Ava was a guest star on Bruno K’s ‘Ekibozibozi’ TikTok Live broadcast where she discussed different topics including music and personal life. While talking about her love life, the ‘Eden’ hitmaker narrated the sad experience of her encounter with a violent man.

She revealed that they had just started dating for six months and a few months into their relationship, he started putting his hands on her. According to Ava Peace, the very first time it happened, the man had done something wrong and when she tried questioning him, he beat her up.

“He claimed that I had responded to him in a rude way. I was trying to question him and defend myself, that is how it started,” she said.

According to Ava Peace, the culprit had a belief in superiority, sense of entitlement and was a very jealous individual who would be triggered by the simplest things like her going out and interacting with someone else. Even with this, she kept giving him several chances thinking he would change his behaviour but in vain.

“But then I was also stupid because I never saw these things. I was a lover. It takes me a lot of time to get to know someone and those are the many chances I give him. There is one time I was trying to explain to him where I was. He knew I was at work because he kept calling me but while I tried talking, he threw a glass at me. His siblings were aware. I’m so happy that I can talk about it right now,” she said.

Ava Peace, however, declined exposing the name of the culprit but advised all the ladies in her past situation to leave the relationship as soon as they notice any signs of violence.

“I want to tell the girls out there that if a man starts beating you, he will never stop. Every time he finished beating me, he would kneel and crawl on the floor while crying and asking for forgiveness. But he would still do the same thing after three days,” Ava Peace said.
