Entebbe Golf Club ushered in the New Year 2018 on a perfect note with the Singleton Qualifiers Championship Edition two on Saturday that attracted a record turn up of 213 players. After an 18-hole course match play action, 64 players successfully progressed to round one slated for February 2018.
With Singleton Whiskey to wash down their dry throats, the night only got better and better at the 19th hole for Golfers who laughed their stress off thanks to Salvador, Uganda’s finest standup comedian, who cracked their ribs with his superb jokes and comedy stunts. Dubbed the ‘Caribbean Theme Night’, Maxi Byenkya and David Ssekitoleko emerged as the overall best dressed golfers and walked away with bottles of Singleton Whiskey.
Joel Basalaine, Twinemanzi Tumubweine and Mungoma Peter emerged as Group A, B and C winners with 68, 69 and 66 Nett respectively. Nakalembe Irene and Jovia Tugume emerged winners in the ladies groups A and B with 68 and 73 Nett respectively. All the winners in the respective groups walked away with various prizes courtesy of tournament sponsors that included Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), Rwandair, Serena, Dstv and Many others.
The final two best golfers will earn an all expenses paid for trip to Dubai in November courtesy of Rwandair.
