The Minister of State for Primary Education and Wakiso Woman Member of Parliament Rose Sseninde has assured Entebbe Municipality and Katabi Town Council residents that the report on the rampant murders of women in the area will be tabled in Cabinet for action. Sseninde who was addressing Katabi Town Council residents at the Nkumba Central play Ground on Wednesday revealed that the rampant murders are now a national issue which needs to be brought to the attention of President Museveni and the entire cabinet for swift and immediate action.

Sseninde also instructed RDC Rose Kirabira to ensure that the bushy parts in Kayiirira forest reserve located in Nkumba Central where the decomposing body of the late Jalia Nalule was discovered on Monday to be cut down immediately.

“We cannot compromise on security and whoever refuses to abide by my directive to have the bushy parts in Kayiirira forest reserve cut will be dealt with accordingly because the killers are using the advantage of the bushes to commit their crimes”, Minister Sseninde stated.

Sseninde urged the residents to put in place suggestion boxes in their respective zones to enable them identify and report criminals. The former Busiro South Member of Aspirant Stephen Sekigozi called on all the leaders in Wakiso District to support his petition on the rampant murders of women which will be forwarded to speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadagga for action.

RDC Rose Kirabira assured the residents that all security organs are now on ground and are working with the Police force to ensure that the mysterious killers are found and apprehended. She disclosed that government will crack down on tinted cars because reports indicate that criminals use tinted cars to conceal their identity and commit crime.

Meanwhile the Busiro South Member of Parliament Peter Ssematimba pledged to offer bursaries to the late Sarah Nakajjo, Aisha Nakasinde and Jalia Nalule’s children. Sarah Nakajjo, Aisha Nakasinde and Jalia Nalule are among the women whose lives were cut short by the serial killers. Peter Ssematimba pledged to offer bursaries to each of the deceased’s children until senior six (S.6).
