The Entebbe Division ‘B’ LC3 Chairman Ssalongo Kapere Stanley Namayirira is not a happy man one of these days after Mayor Vincent Kayanja DePaul warned him over eyeing his office seat. The LC3 Chairman was forced to chicken out from contesting for the Mayoral seat in the 2021 general elections during a closed door Democratic Party meeting that was held on Saturday at Kiwafu Primary School.

We have highly established that during the heated meeting, Mayor Kayanja officially made it clear that he is going nowhere and will contest again in 2021 for the Mayoral seat. Our scouts who attended the meeting have indicated that Mayor Kayanja told Namayirira to stop encroaching on his office territory. On his part, Chairman Namayirira smartly chickened out and said that he will contest again for the Division ‘B’ seat in the 2021 general elections.

However the news hasn’t gone done well with several Democratic Party members who wanted Namayirira to contest for the Mayoral seat come 2021 and said that he behaved like a coward.

“We aren’t happy with Stanley Namayirira because he has disappointed us. We had hope that he was going to contest for the Mayoral seat come 2021 but he has now pulled out of the race. We aren’t happy with him. Why has he behaved like a coward?” one of Namayirira’s supporters told entebbenews.

Sources close to Mayor Kayanja have revealed that he had eyed the Parliamentary seat and wanted to take on MP Rose Tumusiime in the 2021 general elections but has since given up after Michael Kakembo Mbwatekamwa who contested as the DP Flag bearer in the 2016 general elections and lost to MP Rose Tumusiime wants to try his luck again.

“When Mbwatekamwa heard that Mayor Kayanja was eyeing the parliamentary seat, he became bitter with Mayor Kayanja and stopped receiving his calls. After realizing that his friendship with Mbwatekamwa had hit the rocks, Mayor Kayanja gave up on contesting for the Parliamentary seat and he is eyeing a third term in office. We aren’t happy with Mayor Kayanja’s decision because in the past he has been agitating for two terms in office and he also clearly told us that he was serving his last term but now he has changed his mind”, a DP Member who spoke on condition of anonymity told entebbenews.

Our sources who attended the meeting have revealed that shortly after Mayor Kayanja announced that he was running for a third term, majority of the DP Members booed him.
