
The body of Eric Nakibinge, a 30 year old fisherman and a resident of Kitubulu in Entebbe Municipality was on Sunday evening discovered in Lake Victoria after he drowned as he attempted to flee from the UPDF Marines fisheries Task force soldiers who were conducting a crackdown on illegal fishing at the Kitinda landing site in Katabi Town Council.
Several sources have intimated to entebbenews that Eric Nakibinge drowned in the lake on Friday as he attempted to escape from the ruthless UPDF Marines Fisheries Task force soldiers who were conducting a crackdown on illegal fishing at the landing site. Sources disclosed that after Nakibinge drowned in the lake, a one Yasin together with other fisheries Task force soldiers pelted him with bricks though entebbenews cannot independently verify the claims.
Meanwhile other sources have also disclosed that Eric Nakibinge run out of the lake and fell into a sand pond in Kitinda as he fled and was pelted with bricks by a one yasin and soldiers from the fisheries Task force though entebbenews cannot independently verify the claims.
The Entebbe Police Station OC Station Abey Muwonge confirmed that the body of Eric Nakibinge was recovered on Sunday evening with several cuts on the head. He revealed that the body of the deceased was rushed to Mulago Hospital for a postmortem adding that police is investigating the circumstances under which the deceased obtained deep cuts on the head under case ref SD Ref 55/21/7/2017.
