The life of 18 year old Norah Wanyana, a senior five (S.5) student at Airforce Secondary School in Entebbe Municipality and a resident in Nkumba Central, Katabi Town Council in Wakiso District came to a tragic end on Thursday after her body was discovered naked and dumped in a banana plantation a few meters away from her home.
According to Eric Mpagi, a young brother to the deceased disclosed that Norah Wanyana returned in the evening from school and between 7pm and 8pm she left home to go and buy food and that was the last time he saw his sister.
Mpagi revealed that after realizing that she had delayed to return home, he rung her mobile phone a total of 304 times but unfortunately there was no response.
When their mum Florence Nankya returned home from work at 10pm, Mpagi told her that Wanyana was missing, they waited for her the entire night but in vain and slept off at 3am. According to Mpagi, it was at around 9am on Friday when an old boy of the deceased rushed to their rented apartment and informed them that Norah Wanyana’s body was discovered naked and dumped in a banana plantation.

According to scene of crime police officers (SOCO), unidentified people gang raped and thereafter pushed a stick into her private parts. The body of the deceased was rushed to Mulago Hospital and we have highly established that one suspect is behind bars at Entebbe Police Station. The scene of crime officers recovered the clothes of the deceased that were found at the crime scene.
The Entebbe Police OC CIID Zachariah Mbabazi wasn’t willing to comment on the incident when contacted. Norah Wanyana’s death is the fourth incident in a span of two months involving women being gang raped and murdered in Katabi Town Council.
