Shock and grief engulfed fishermen and business persons at Kasenyi
fishing site after they landed on the dead body of unidentified man
floating dead on the waters of Lake Victoria.
According to some fishermen who spoke to the media say the deceased’s
body was discovered at 6am on Thursday morning as they returned from
the lake after fishing and immediately they notified Kasenyi police
that authorized them to remove the body from the lake.
It’s reportedly that the deceased could have committed suicide after
he was suspected to have had unbearable economic problems.

The officer in-charge of Kasenyi police, Joseph Sekitoleko confirmed
the incident and said the deceased was a new person in the area who
was not known by residents at the fishing site adding that those who
saw him prior to his death say he looked to have multiple problems
beyond his control and as a result he could have decided to end his
life prematurely by drowning in the lake.
He revealed that the deceased had no identity card to identify him and
appealed to the general public to move with identification documents
to easily identify them.
Sekitoleko noted that deceased’s body was taken to Mulago hospital for
a post mortem as investigations into his death continue.
