The first ever friendly match between the Uganda Police and the rest of Entebbe residents saw Police win all the three matches that were held at the Kiwafu Play Ground on Sunday. Police beat Carpenters 5-0 in the first match that kicked off at 12:30pm, Police also thrashed Boda Boda 6-2 in the second match that kicked off at 3:30pm. Police completed their superb victory with a win over Boda Boda “Kabuubu” stage. Best Pelle earned Police 1-0 victory after he converted a penalty. Boda Boda had two of their second half goals cancelled after Godfrey Segujja and Francis Kibuule were caught offside while Muyanja Bakali had his penalty saved by Police goalie James Luyiriwa. Team Police featured players like katiti Asuman, Bashir Bhetto, Abdallah Yusuf, Best Pelle and Dede Ibra.
Mayor Kayanja who attended the match thanked all the participating teams and urged all the residents to participate and engage in sports activities so as to remain fit and healthy. The Entebbe Municipality Area Member of Parliament also hailed all the participating teams and pledged to make the friendly an annual tournament next year. She revealed that engaging and participating in sports is the best way to build the relationship between Police and the Community adding that sports unites people of different backgrounds. The friendly matches were organized by Timothy Komakech.
