For quite some time now there has been a silent war brewing up between Hon. Rose Tumusiime’s camp and a one Emmanuel Kasagga the Entebbe International Airport Civil Aviation Authority Accounts Manager. The silent war according to sources began brewing up after Kasagga launched his bid for the Entebbe Municipality Parliamentary seat while Rose Tumusiime was battling a court petition that DP’s Kakembo Michael filed in the high court challenging her February 18 Parliamentary election Victory. Since then Kasagga who is believed to be an NRM member has been canvassing for votes and building momentum for his 2021 parliamentary bid.
Kasagga who recently split with his Entebbe Airport NRM Group colleagues’ claims that Hon. Rose Tumusiime assured him that she would serve for only one term and that it is his right to aspire for any position. However according to Rose Tumusiime’s personal Assistant George Ntoganyi he confirmed to entebbenews that Hon. Tumusiime has never said such a thing that she would serve for one term in Parliament and that Kasagga is being driven by his own selfish ambitions.
Ntoganyi also revealed that Kasagga has on several occasions been warned over campaigning because his actions are illegal as per the NRM Party constitution.
We (Rose Tumusiime camp) and other NRM supporters in Entebbe have enough evidence pinning him on how he, Mathias Kafeero (Kabinika) the Kiwafu East LCIII Councilor and a one Joram Gamusii are holding secret campaigns and bad mouthing Rose Tumusiime. We have information that he is among the people who wanted Rose Tumusiime to lose the court case and had hoped for a by-election which he wanted to participate in, Ntoganyi disclosed.
Ntoganyi added;
For instance last week on Thursday he met a group of people in Fire quarters (Nakasamba Village) where he said so many awful things against Hon. Rose Tumusiime. This isn’t the first time he is bad-mouthing Rose Tumusiime, he has been bad-mouthing her in several villages in Entebbe. We have tried our best to caution him against his actions but he has refused to listen.
If Kasagga wants to join politics, the law is clear he should have resigned from his job but since he is still working with CAA then he should watch out. He keeps bragging around and blowing his own trumpet about how he is helping people more than Rose Tumusiime, Ntoganyi emphasized.
Meanwhile members of the Entebbe International Airport NRM Group have also distanced themselves from Kasagga’s actions. The Entebbe International Airport NRM Group members assert that Kasagga’s actions tantamount to greed and selfish interest.
We tried to talk to him (Kasagga) to desist from frustrating Hon. Rose Tumusiime because she was elected by the People of Entebbe Municipality as their Member of Parliament. Our focus now is to work with her (Hon. Rose Tumusiime) to ensure that we fulfill the NRM Manifesto. Kasagga is just being diversionary but if he still confesses to be an NRM Party member then it is high time he stops sabotaging Rose Tumusiime because we have a right to have him expelled from the party, a member of the Entebbe International Airport NRM Group told entebbenews.
