After seven years without participating in the National Schools Athletics Championships, newly launched Entebbe sports organizing committee chaired by Archilles Lukyamuzi is determined to send a team that will represent Entebbe Municipality in the upcoming National Schools Athletics Championship slated to take place in Masindi in May. The 24 Pupils who will represent Entebbe Municipality were selected during the Entebbe Schools Athletics Championships that were held at Lake Victoria School last week. 6 boys and 6 girls will represent Entebbe in the under-12 and under-16 category in the track and field events respectively.
We are determined to take part in the upcoming National Athletics Championships in Masindi though we are cash trapped. We need a tune of Five Million Shillings (Shs5m) to be able to send the young stars to Masindi. For the last seven years Entebbe hasn’t been participating in the National Athletics games, Lukyamuzi said.
He added:
We call upon any well wisher and sponsor for assistance. The funds will cater for the feeding, transport, refreshments, sports kits, first Aid and treatment.
