Peoples Development Party (PDP) Presidential candidate Dr. Abed Bwanika has sounded alarm bells to all fake investors who are engaged in petty businesses. Bwanika who was addressing a campaign rally in Entebbe Kitooro Taxi Park on Monday expressed his dismay that the so-called investors are engaged in petty businesses that are supposed to be done by Ugandans.
I’m sounding an alarm bell to all fake investors that your time is up. They (fake investors) are engaged in petty businesses that are supposed to be done by Ugandans. Of course we shall verify and investigate all businesses owned by foreigners and once we discover that one is running a petty business, we shall not hesitate to expel them as soon as possible. I see many of them in down town Kampala working as shop keepers and yet in their countries Ugandans are mistreated, Bwanika stressed.
Bwanika also promised to expedite the process of having South Sudanese seeking Education in Uganda return to their home country once they complete their studies. He revealed that many Ugandans have suffered at the hands of South Sudanese both in their country and at home.
He pledged to invest more funds into wind, solar and biogas energy to boost electricity capacity in the country.
Once elected into office I’ll expedite the completion of Karuma, Isimba and Ayago dams to reduce on the electricity tariffs that are so high. Once completed Karuma dam will produce 600 megawatts, Isimba (183 megawatts) and Ayago (600 megawatts), Abed Bwanika indicated.
He pledged to have Entebbe International Airport expanded to attract more business and tourists from all over the world. He also promised to have another Airport built in Arua District to link Uganda to the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan.
He pledged to sensitize Ugandans on different income generating projects such as fish farming on Lake Victoria.
