A 68 Year old farmer identified as Mulinda Daniel, a resident of Mpala Zone in Katabi Town Council is counting himself lucky after residents in the neighborhood wanted to massively lynch and stone him to death after his family and relatives accused him of engaging in “Juju” witchcraft to finish them off one by one.
Ssekattawa Daniel, a representative of the family pinned Mulinda Daniel over bringing witchcraft (Amayembe) with a fishy plot to kill them and grab all the huge chucks of land that the Late Eric Ssempebwa left behind. In a heated village meeting that was held at the Late Eric Ssempebwa’s residence in Mpala zone on Monday, Ssekattawa Daniel and the relatives accused Mulinda Daniel of killing their grandmother (his mum) and three aunties (Sengas) using “Amayembe” witchcraft.

“After realizing that our family members were dying mysteriously we started investigating their deaths and luckily enough some of our family members got revelations through spirits (Empeewo zaba Jajja) that our own family member Mulinda Daniel had brought “amayembe” witchcraft to finish us off mysteriously so that he grabs all the huge chucks of land located in Mpala and Buwaya that our grandfather equally divided amongst all of us before he died”, Ssekattawa narrated.
He added;
When we grilled him (Mulinda Daniel), he accepted that he brought Juju (Witchcraft) and through the help of other witch doctors we were able to discover that Mulinda planted the Juju (witchcraft) in his Kraal under the pretense of protecting his cows from thieves. He wrote a letter asking for forgiveness from us the family members after he accepted that he brought the Juju. We have since been informed by our “Jajjas” that Mulinda Daniel has resumed his witchcraft and wants to kill seven other family members including myself. We have spent more than Thirty Million Shillings (Shs30m) seeking help and assistance from a number of witchdoctors and traditional healers to break Mulinda’s witchcraft and Juju.

The family members and relatives have resolved that Mulinda Daniel be chased away from Mpala because of engaging in witchcraft and should immediately vacate the land. The relatives claim that the late Eric Ssempebwa equally divided his pieces of land in Mpala and Buwaya and also gave Mulinda Daniel his share however they claim that Mulinda is using witchcraft to kill them one by one so that he grabs all the land.
Nalongo Bukanasa Sophia, a known traditional healer in Luwero District who was hired by Ssekattawa Daniel also pinned down Mulinda Daniel who was present in the meeting over planting Juju (witchcraft) in the family. Nalongo Bukanasa claimed that she unearthed a lot of Juju which belonged to Mulinda Daniel.
Speaking to entebbenews, Mulinda accepted that he brought some “medicine” from Kyaggwe in Buikwe District to protect his cows from being stolen.
“When the ‘Medicine’ was removed from my Kraal, all my cows were stolen after two months. They are just jealous that I’m more successful than them. They demolished my Kitchen and Kraal and I have since taken the matter to Entebbe Chief Magistrate court that instructed them to compensate me with Shs25m for my Kraal and Kitchen they destroyed. I’ve never killed my relatives, their late grandmother who is my late Mum died of old age, the two aunties (Sengas) died of HIV/AIDS while the other Auntie (Senga) died of cancer so they are falsely accusing me and using all means including threatening me to give up from seeking justice”, Mulinda explained.

Meanwhile the OC CID Entebbe Police Station Daniel Batte fled from the heated meeting which turned rowdy after some family members were attacked by spirits and wanted to stone Mulinda to death. The Katabi Town Council Mayor Kalema Ronald and Entebbe Police Station OC Station Ndawula David fought tooth and nail with the family members who were attacked by the spirits (Empeewo zaba Jajja) which were ordering them to stone Mulinda to death.
Mulinda Daniel and his 78 year old sister Kasarina Kizza with whom he is accused of planting witchcraft to destroy the family where whisked away to Entebbe Police Station as Police and the local leaders find a solution to the problem that is turning into a security threat in Katabi Town Council.
