

Bagalana Ibra came as a surprise to the 19th hole Gallery as Entebbe Club Vice Captain Edwin Tumusiime announced him as the 18th JBG Golf champion. Bagalana carded 42 stable ford points to be crowned champion in a tournament that attracted 112 players who were in action on Saturday at the Par 71 Entebbe Golf course. The 24 year old talked to entebbenews about his victory.
I’m happy that I’ve won the tournament. I only resumed playing Golf eight months back because I’ve been busy finalizing my Bachelor’s degree in Social Administration at Kampala International University. I’ve been warming up and training at the Kampala course. I found the course challenging but I quickly acclimatized with the greens and I managed to hit two birdies on holes 10 and 18 a jolly Bagalana told entebbenews.
Playing Golf handicap 36, Jovia Tugume was overall ladies winner with 44 points while Mwanja Becca was gross winner of the tournament with 69 points. Fred Kasumba was overall winner in the newly created seniors category (55 and above) with 33 points.
Other Winners:
Aaron Mugomola topped group A (0-9) with 40 points while Edgar Muzahura was group B Winner (10-18) with 40 points. Tonny Katamba was group C Winner (19-28) with 41 points. In the ladies category Irene Nakalembe carded 36 points to finish top in Group A (0-16) while Meron Kyomugisha finished as runners up with 30 points. Agnes Namutebi topped group B with 38 points.
Herman Mutawe Wins Professional category.

Kampala based professional golfer Herman Mutawe beat 14 other pros to claim a lion’s share of shs 10m prize kitty that had been staked courtesy of sponsor JBG. Mutawe returned 2 over par 73 and level par 71 during the two day tournament that was held on Thursday and Friday to finish with a total of 144. Opio silver, Wanzala Fred, George Olayo and Said Mawa finished with identical results of 149 each. In sixth place was Dickson Lagoro with 152 while Phillip Kasozi and Deo Akope finished in seventh and eighth positions with 154 and 157.
