The first National Beach Wood ball Beach circuit gets underway on Sunday February 15 at Sports Beach Entebbe. Seven clubs namely Ndejje University, Entebbe Woodball Club, Botladz Woodball Club, Nkumba University, MUBS, Muteesa I Royal University, Ndejje Woodball Club, and Bank of Uganda have confirmed their participation. The competitions will be on individual basis and will have 12 fairways.
In the men’s category, Musiime Johnmary (Botladz Woodball Club) and Atamba Onesmus (Ndejje University) will once again be battling it out for the top slot. Musiime JohnMary (BotLadz Wood Ball Club) was 2014 overall Beach Wood Ball Circuit Winner with 119 points and was followed by Atamba Onesmus (Ndejje University) with 117 points a difference of 2 points. Mean While USPA and UWbF MVP – Adupa Joel (Ndejje University) is also fired up to win his maiden Beach Circuit.
In the ladies category, Mukoova Joan (Ndejje University) hopes for successful start similar to last year where she won the first 2 Circuits in a row which saw her lead Zawedde Lillian (Ndejje University) at the end of the year.
“We are hopeful that the return of Among Mary Goretti (Botladz Woodball Club) from injury will spice up the event competitively. Among didn’t play the 3rd and 4th Circuits last year due to an accident she got in October 2014” Uganda Beach Wood Ball Administrator Kateregga John Baptist confirmed in an email.
He added that Four Beach Circuits will be held in 2015 and competitors are expected to accumulate points at each outing.
