    Host nation Team Uganda and South Africa are in a tight contest after both nations finished with a similar score of 12.5 points on day Two of the Zone VI Africa Golf Championship. Teeing off amidst a heavy downpour in the morning defending Champions South Africa finished Top with four points in the Foursomes category while Uganda trailed with three points. With a combined score of 6.5 on day one and 4 points in the foursomes category South Africa led Uganda by a point who returned a combined score of 6.5 on day one score and 3 points in the foursomes category.

    After a heavy down pour in the morning Uganda finished with a score of 3 points in the four ball better ball category while South Africa finished with two points. Adolf Muhumuza and Ronald Otile pair beat South African Pair Jason Smith and Teagan Gauche 1-up. Ronald Otile’s birdies on holes 15 and 16 resurrected Uganda’s chances after trailing the South African pair 1-down.

    Martin Ochaya and Henry Lugya beat Malawian Pair Coombes and Chisambo 6 and 7. Henry Lugya hit a hole in one on hole 4.

    “It has been tight, it hasn’t been simple. We were trailing the South Africans 1-down but we regained our composure and managed to beat the South African pair.

    Kenya and Zimbabwe are tied with 10.5 points, Zambia finished 9.5 points, Botswana has 5.5 points, and Namibia has 3 points while Malawi is currently bottom with1.5 points.

    The tournament climaxes tomorrow with the singles round.
