The family of the late Nekemia Masabo Lwanga Sempagama of Nkumba Bufulu zone, Entebbe sub district has petitioned the director for chieftaincy of Civil Military cooperation over former senior UPDF officer,Brig. Gen. Moses Shaban Lukyamuzi plus his body guard Hamdan Lutamaguzi over the deceased’s property.
According to the petition dated 26th October , 2021 filed by the petitio
ner’s Lawyers of Kintu Nteza &Co. Advocates addressed to the Director of Chieftaincy of Civil Military cooperation to intervene following squabbles with the deceased’s family over land property.
A consent judgment executed on the 14th May 2021, however didn’t go well with the senior army officer and his body guard after a court ruling pointing fingers at them.
And to make matters worse on the 29th June 2021, the senior army officer and his body guard plus 20 hooligans allegedly raided the deceased’s land and removed all the mark stones and fencing poles from the land measuring 3.5 acres.
“It’s said that while on the land Brig. Lukyamuzi arrested Moses Mutaasa one of the administrators of the estate and dragged him to Entebbe police station and opened a case of criminal trespass and malicious damage against him”, reads police file.
Police took the file to the Entebbe Resident State Attorney who put a query on both charges
before closing the file over lack of evidence.
Brig. Lukyamuzi again raided the disputed land on October 3rd, 2021 in company of three armed UPDF officers who came driving in a black colored Toyota Harrier and allegedly put all
the workers who were cultivating land on a gun point.
They were thoroughly caned like chicken and ordered to remove all the mark stones and fencing poles from the disputed land in broad day light.
The victims later filed a case of criminal trespass, and assault against Brig. Lukyamuzi, body guard Lutamaguzi and others after bruising them up.
The deceased’s family in its petition wants the Chieftaincy of Civil Military Cooperation to reign into the matter and take appropriate action against the mentioned officers who have used their
army ranks and UPDF uniforms to commit crimes with impunity against innocent law abiding Ugandans.
