Uganda Wild Life Education Centre team has for the last several days been rehabilitating a one drunken monkey which has been addicted to guzzling local brew ‘Malwa’ 24/7. The poor monkey named ‘Doreen’ was abandoned by its mother in Luzira after it’s birth and had been surviving the hard way without anything to eat and drink.
The friendly monkey resorted to raiding several ‘malwa’ joints in Luzira and swallowing free booze to forget all it’s worries and problems in addition to loitering around the city suburb scavenging for something to eat. UWEC cops nabbed the ‘malwa’ thirsty monkey already zonked after residents and ‘Malwa’ brewers filed complaints to Uganda Wild Life Authority (UWA). The monkey is now under safe custody at UWEC rehabilitation centre in Entebbe where it’s trying to give up and forget the game of boozing ‘Malwa’.
