Gwali Tom, the Changsha Primary School Deputy Head Teacher is cursing like hell and counting himself unlucky after he was thrown out of the Kiwafu primary school teachers’ house where he has been residing for the last six years. Entebbenews has established that early this year Gwali Tom, was transferred from Kiwafu Primary School to Changsha Primary School as the Deputy Head teacher, a promotion that he requested for and was granted. Entebbenews has also learnt that after the transfer to Changsha Primary School, Tom Gwali was supposed to vacate the house and give way for another teacher, a one Tino Genevive who was also transferred from Kigungu to Kiwafu Primary School.
However for the last six months Gwali Tom has been residing in the Kiwafu Primary school teachers’ house with nowhere else to go because Changsha school Management hadn’t yet found accommodation for him. According to Gwali, who spoke to entebbenews on phone said that he wrote to the Kiwafu Primary School Management requesting for more time until August 31 as he finds accommodation elsewhere.
Gwali also accused the Kiwafu primary school management of being biased and playing politics after another Kiwafu Primary School teacher identified as Wambuzi Samuel who was transferred to Kigungu is still residing in the teachers’ house and wasn’t thrown out.
However, Mrs Rose Lipa, the Kiwafu Primary School Head Teacher revealed that Gwali Tom was given ample time to vacate the house in good faith and give way for another teacher Tino Genevive who was transferred to Kiwafu primary School from Kigungu. Lipa indicated that Tino Genevive urgently needs to shift because she cannot afford the daily transport costs to and from Kigungu. Lipa also revealed that Wambuzi Samuel will also soon vacate the house though he is still attending to a patient in Mulago Hospital.
Meanwhile, Lipa has blamed Entebbe Municipal Council Education department for failing to plan for the teachers well. Lipa also revealed that because primary School teachers in government aided schools aren’t properly catered for, they end up not concentrating on teaching the school pupils which affects their overall performance.
Lipa together with the Kiwafu Central LCI Chairperson Babirye Harriet and school management committee members forcefully broke the padlocks to the house and removed all Tom Gwali’s belongings which were kept in a store.
