
The Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) is warming up for it’s 36th Tarehe Sita Celebrations on February 6 to mark the day when Sevo and his boys launched a deadly attack on Kabamba Barracks to liberate the country from bad governance. Sevo and his boys liberated the country on January 26, 1986 after they fought a bloody five year Luweero Bush war with Obote and Lutwa governments. And now the small group of Rebel fighters has transformed into the mighty UPDF with different army units like the Special Forces Command, Airforce, Land Forces and several others.
In Entebbe the SFC Kick started the celebrations on Monday with a cleaning exercise around Entebbe plus treating locals in Lugonjo-Nakiwogo. According to the Director Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) in the SFC Capt. Frank Murema revealed that Entebbe will celebrate the day on Feberuary 8, 2017 and Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire the Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister will preside over the function that will be held at the Mayors Gardens. The main celebrations will be held in Apac Boma Grounds.
