The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) President and Lira Municipality Member of Parliament Jimmy Akena is warming up to officially start working the Ruling National Resistance Movement Party (NRM). This follows after the big man and NRM Party Chairman President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni appointed his sweet lovely wife Betty Amongin as the State Minister For Lands and Hon. Ruth Achieng to manage the State Fisheries Ministry. Jimmy Akena a son to the late UPC Founding President Apollo Milton Obote welcomed the Ministerial appointments and revealed that his camp will in the next couple of days officially sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the ruling party to crystallize the juicy deal. Akena has stated that President Museveni is serving his last term and UPC is ready to have talks with President Museveni on a peaceful transition of power.
However Dr. Olara Otunnu condemned the ministerial appointments and the NRM deal and revealed that Jimmy Akena and his wife Betty Amongin have been camouflaging and secretly working with the big man. He revealed that Jimmy Akena and Betty Amongin have been masquerading as UPC Members for all these years and spying for the big man in turn for cash and other freebies. Otunnu indicated that President Museveni has succeeded in crushing UPC from within and that he and other party members will never work with President Museveni.
