Police in Katwe are investigating a suspected murder case that occurred on Wednesday at Ndejje-Kibutika Mirimu cell, Makindye Sabagabo.

The victim, Ssalongo Musoke Fred, a 68-year-old businessman and resident of the area, was found dead behind a chapati kiosk, meters off the main road.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the incident.

According to Onyango, the police responded promptly, recording witness statements and documenting the scene. The body was taken to City Mortuary for postmortem examination.

Preliminary findings suggest that Musoke, a fish monger, was waylaid 100 meters from his home, hit with a blunt object, and robbed of his belongings.

“The motive is suspected to be robbery,” said Onyango.

Onyango says that police are enhancing patrols in the area to deter criminal activity. He urged the business community to exercise caution when moving early in the morning.
