The Entebbe General Referral Hospital Staff and patients have been having smiles on their faces ever since Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) under their Water Of Life Charity Program donated 200,000 liter water harvest tanks. The underground water tanks that were donated early this year were officially handed over to the Entebbe General Hospital Management on Wednesday. The Hospital Director Dr. Moses Muwanga hailed Uganda Breweries Limited for their generosity and revealed that the underground water tanks have been helpful in reducing the chocking National water bills.
I would like to thank Uganda Breweries for donating the water tanks to Entebbe Hospital. The water tanks have been helpful in reducing on the National water bills because we harvest rain water in the rainy season. We have been spending close to Shs10m every month but with the alternative water source we have been able to save Shs3m, Dr.Muwanga disclosed.
David Croft the Uganda Breweries (Diageo) Global Director for Sustainability said that Uganda Breweries will continue to partner with Hospitals and different communities in Uganda to prevent the spread of water borne diseases through providing clean and safe water. The underground water tanks were constructed to a tune of Shs408 million and serve over 80,000 patients.
