
Two thugs are cursing life like hell behind bars at Mpala Police Station after they were arrested over stealing a bunch of Matooke and cassava in the wee hours of Monday Morning. Fideri Muhindo (27 years) and Abbas Byekwaso (35 years) were arrested over stealing a bunch of Matooke and Cassava in David Kivumbi’s garden a resident of Gerenge village, Garuga road in Katabi Town Council. Mpala police cops arrested the two thugs during an overnight operation to crack down on lawlessness and criminals in Mpala zone. These fellas were arrested in the wee hours of Monday morning between 3am and 4am while fidgeting with the bunch of Matooke in Kivumbi’s garden.
The thugs revealed that they were going to sell the matooke to some of their restaurant customers at Ten Thousand Shillings (Shs10, 000).

Joseph Sekitoleko, the Mpala OC Station disclosed that they were able to arrest the two thugs through close coordination and cooperation with the area LCI Chairman. Sekitoleko revealed that the two thugs have been terrorizing residents in Mpala and Garuga zone including stealing bunches of Matooke in gardens. He said that Police will continue with the overnight operations to weed out all criminal elements in Katabi Town Council. The two thugs will be charged with theft under SD Ref 04/15/05/2017 and will be paraded in the courts of law to answer for their charges.
