Trouble: Bajjo Drags Bobi Wine’s Brother Nyanzi to Police for Attacking Him

Events organiser, Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo has reported Bobi Wine’s brother Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu to Kira Road police station for allegedly violently attacking him and damaging his car.

Events organiser, Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo has reported Bobi Wine’s brother Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu to Kira Road police station for allegedly violently attacking him and damaging his car.

According to Bajjo, Nyanzi together with a group of people attacked him while he was buying some edibles from one of the shops in Kamwokya and accused him of publicly stating he will only support Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) but not his brothers seeking leadership positions.

Nyanzi intends to contest for the position of Kampala Central member of parliament in the next elections.

“Nyanzi had nearly killed me from Kamwokya. I had gone to buy some drinks from the shop where he found me and asked me why I said he should not stand for the MP position in an interview with NBS television. In the interview I made it clear that the struggle is not a family one, it is for Ugandans. So, what he did was to gather goons and broke lights of my car and almost knocked me down as he set off,” Bajjo told this news website.

On his Facebook page, Bajjo claimed that he was saved by local residents in Kamwokya, who intervened and separated them.

“Thanks to local people who have rescued my life. I have reported two cases at Kira road police – malicious damage and threatening my life. You can see the type of a person who wants to contest for being an MP, he is very violent, how can you threaten someone when you a leader?” Bajjo asked.

The case of Malicious Damage of Bajjo’s car Reg number UBE 131D has been reported under SD REF 42/30/05/2020.

When contacted, Nyanzi disputed all the accusations saying he was not even at the said place at the time Bajjo claims he was attacked. He however said Bajjo has for sometime insulted him on different media stations.

“I really don’t understand what happened to Bajjo. I was first told that he attacked me while appearing on NBS television recently and today they told he was on radio Simba saying that I was paid off by President Museveni. So, after saying all that, he came to Kamwokya today, may be to physically attack youths in that area. I really don’t know what transpired, I have been in the meeting and I am yet to ask what happened,” Nyanzi told this news website.

He said what Bajjo is engaging in is diversionary, only intended to derail them from focusing on ‘serious’ issues, claiming that the events promoter is used by President Yoweri Museveni to weaken Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and his close associates.

“They fear Bobi Wine because he is strong and what they are doing now, is to attack people around him so as to leave him in isolation,” he added.

When reminded that Bajjo is a known sworn supporter of Bobi Wine and his People Power movement, Nyanzi said that his actions do not correlate with the presumed support, pointing the “unfounded claims” that he (Nyanzi) had been paid off by President Museveni.

The development is the latest disagreement within the political pressure group after the group’s renowned blogger Ashburg Katto recently opted to thrown in the towel and joined the ruling National Resistance Movement party.
