Several Traders operating in Kitooro Taxi Park are threatening to squeeze Mayor Kayanja’s throat over redeveloping the Taxi Park minus resettling them. The bitter traders are cursing like hell and crying endless crocodile tears after Mayor Kayanja, Town Clerk Charles Magumba and Municipal Engineer Joseph Mukiibi announced that the Taxi Park would be redeveloped without even giving the Traders time to relocate and resettle. The bitter traders bashed Mayor Kayanja and the Municipal Authorities during a heated meeting that was organized on Friday in the Taxi Park over being insensitive to their concerns and plotting to send them back to the village. The poor traders revealed that Mayor Kayanja should think twice because they are chocking on loans and to make matters worse they have nowhere to go after they kicked out of the Taxi Park.
A six member committee comprising of Rwakishaija, Mugisha, Rwaguma, Turinawe, Migayo, Muramira will lead the negotiations between the lock up owners (landlords), tenants and Municipal Council over the relocation plans.
