Top Uganda Muslim Supreme Council elder Sadiq Musa Lukandwa has called for the immediate arrest of Muslims leaders at the Entebbe Masjid Taqua mosque who were accused of gross financial indiscipline and failing to renovate the mosque which is in a sorry state. The fired that include Kassim Bukenya (Chairperson), Hadhad Sanja (Treasurer), Twaha Ssempebwa (Secretary) and Sadiq Ali Andi (Welfare Manager) were thrown out of office on Thursday after it emerged that they had conspired and secretly sold off the 2.5 acres of land next to the Entebbe cinema Hall at Shs 800m to an Indian Investor. The controversial land was allocated to the Muslims way back in 1976 by former President and nonsense man Field Marshal Idi Amin Dada and it has been the property of all Muslims in Entebbe since then.
The fired Muslim leaders were also found guilty of pocketing shs 900,000 monthly rent charges from the six lockups that were meant to benefit all the Muslims including paying water bills and other expenses. It also emerged that the axed Muslim leaders have been paying Imam Ali Muziru peanuts (Shs 30,000) as his monthly payment for leading prayers at the mosque and yet the poor old man has wives and several kids to look after. A new interim executive committee has since been appointed to run the affairs of the mosque for the next two months and thereafter other leaders will be elected. The interim executive committee includes Muhammad Kawuma (Chair Person), Fahad Kuteesa (Vice Chair Person), Sheikh Ahmad Muziru (Imam), Sadiq Mukasa (Secretary), Hussein Mutanda (Secretary), Jamil Kyazze (Treasurer), Yusuf Byuma and Abdul Magid Kasamba (Member).
Edrisa Matovu Figo the Chairman of Muslim Community in Entebbe revealed that the axed fellas illegally occupied the offices and have been fighting whoever was attempting to organize elections of the committee members.
The axed fellas have since gone into hiding and are secretly plotting to drag MP Kawuma Muhammad and Muslim County to court over what they called their illegal dismissal. Nsanja who was trembling and panicking declined to speak to our cops over the matter.
