    Team Uganda Flagged Off For Singapore, Malaysia Woodball Championship Tourneys.

    Team Uganda will depart on Thursday next week for the 15th Singapore Open Wood ball Championship scheduled to take place on July 31 – Aug 2 and Malaysia Open Wood ball Championship on Aug 4 – Aug 9, 2015. The team which consists of William Osire (Head of Delegation and 2014 best corporate player), Lillian Zawedde (Africa’s No.1 wood player) and 11 year-old Jeff Kayongo ( Entebbe Junior’s finest wood ball player) will travel aboard Ethiopian Airlines at an approximated cost of USD 2700 (Ugx 7million each). Woodball President Paul Mark Kayongo promised to offer 10 wood ball kits to Entebbe Junior School to spread the game to other schools in Entebbe.

    “We are delighted as Uganda Wood ball Federation that Entebbe Junior School has taken up the game of wood ball. We hope the school will act as a hub to spread the game to other schools in Entebbe” Paul Mark Kayongo stated at a press conference held at the school on Saturday.

    Meanwhile the three participants who will represent Uganda expressed their confidence ahead of their trip and promised to make Uganda shine abroad.

    “I feel good that I’m going to represent Uganda. I have been practicing regularly and I hope I’ll return the best results” Jeff Kayongo a primary six pupil at Entebbe Junior School said.

    The press conference was attended by Uganda Wood ball president Paul Mark Kayongo and General Secretary Joseph Collins Ssemanda. Uganda will be among the 23 countries that will be participating in the two Tournaments.
