Vipers, Mbarara City and Soltilo Bright Stars won away from home; KCCA registered a home win

2020-21 Star Times Uganda Premier League:

  • UPDF 0-3 Vipers
  • KCCA 3-0 BUL
  • Kitara 1-3 Soltilo Bright Stars
  • Wakiso Giants 1-2 Mbarara City

The 2020-21 Star Times Uganda Premier League round of 16 continued on Friday, 2nd April 2021 with four games on the menu.

The reigning champions Vipers, KCCA, Soltilo Bright Stars and Mbarara City all won their respective matches.

Vipers overcame UPDF 3-0 at the Army Military Stadium, Bombo. The same score-line was recorded in KCCA’s condemnation of BUL at the MTN Omondi Stadium – Lugogo.

Towering Congolese forward Ceaser Manzoki scored twice and Paul Mucureezi (penalty) scored for Vipers on the road.

KCCA scored their goals through  Fillbert Obenchan, Charles Lwanga and Julius Poloto scored the goals for KCCA in Morley Byekwaso’s first game since the sacking of former head coach Mike Mutebi.

Obenchan headed home the opener off Bright Anukani’s free-kick delivery  as KCCA took the half time lead.

Lwanga captialized on a school-boy mistake by goalkeeper Abdul Kimera to finish  into an empty net as the second half resumed before rocket shot off an acute angle by Poloto in the closing stages of the game.

Soltilo Bright Stars beat newly promoted Kitara 3-1 in the all Kavumba affair.

Wakiso Giants lost at home to visiting Mbarara City 2-1.

Action continues on Saturday, 3rd April 2021 when URA visits Express at the Betway Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium in Kabowa, Kampala.
