Sister Angelina Mary Nakato will be remembered in the history books for her outstanding contribution in the lives of many people; young and old, rich and poor and mostly importantly the pupils of St. Agnes Primary School that she taught, mentored and nurtured into responsible citizens in her 15 year tenure as headmistress. She took over the reigns as Head Mistress of St. Agnes Primary School in 2001 and there according to many of the former pupils the school underwent a sweeping revolution. Sister Nakato breathed her last on Sunday July 24, 2016 in Kisubi Hospital where she had been admitted for close to two weeks battling Cancer of the Liver, a life threatening disease that only attacked her at the end of last year.

Her elder brother Peter Ssegendo disclosed that early this year she cut short her visit to Israel after the disease in it’s infant stages begun to take it’s toll on her and since then she had been in and out of several hospitals including Nsambya, Mulago and Kisubi Hospitals.
Many of the mourners described her as an amazing, honest and hardworking woman. She was laid to rest on Monday in Gogonya catholic Sisters Convent in Kawuku, off Entebbe Road. Cardinal Emeritus Emmanuel Wamala presided over the requiem mass that was attended by several catholic sisters, Entebbe Municipality residents, head teachers from several primary schools in Entebbe and members of the Rotary Club Kajjansi where the deceased served honorably.

Sister Angelina Nakato was born on April 30, 1960 and held a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Education from Makerere University.
