

Coetsee Dion Ruan 44, a South African national was apprehended on Sunday for attempting to commit suicide and unlawful presence in Uganda.
It’s alleged that the suspect got frustrated and attempted to commit
suicide after his caretaker identified as Olvera Kemigisha threatened
to stop looking after him.
It’s reported that the suspect jetted into Uganda on 8th November 2015 and his visa card expired in December and since then he has been staying in the country illegally invading police and security cops.
According to the officer in charge of crime intelligence at Entebbe
police the suspect was allegedly lured into coming to Uganda by a Nigerian national identified as a one Paul who conned him 25,000 US Dollars purporting to make him a business partner in Uganda.
Police revealed that after fleecing money from the suspect the conman disappeared and switched off his known phone contact leaving the suspect stuck with no money to survive.
It’s said that later the suspect rented a room at Gateway Hotel in
Kitoro town where he lived for some days till a good Samaritan identified as Kemigisha offered to house him but due to stress coupled with acute brokeness the suspect chose to end his life prematurely last Sunday which compelled his caretaker to call police that in turn arrested him and threw him
behind bars.
Police disclosed that that suspect was charged with attempted suicide and unlawful presence in the country waiting for the Immigration department to prepare documents to deport him to his home country (South Africa).
