The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has this Wednesday celebrated his 50th birthday by planting trees and donating to charity.
Muhoozi planted 50 trees at the Luttamaguzi Barracks in Kigungu, Entebbe where he urged soldiers and neighbouring communities to “actively engage in environmental conservation.”
The UPDF General, who also doubles as Senior Presidential Advisor in charge of Special Operations, later unveiled a new Neonatal Special Care Unit at the Dr. Ronald Bata Memorial Hospital in Entebbe.
This medical facility will provide essential care for preterm babies.

Flanked by his youngest daughter and wife, Charlotte, Muhoozi also donated mama kits to the hospital.
Muhoozi in the past described mothers as “the rock of the nation.”
General Muhoozi’s friends took to social media to send him warm congratulations.

“Join me on this special occasion to celebrate the life of the Chief of Defense Forces and Chairman of PLU Uganda, Gen. Muhoozi on his 50th birthday,” said State Minister of Sports, Peter Ogwang.
“As the Bible says in Psalm 71:9, I pray to the Almighty God not to cast you off in the time of old age or forsake you when your strength fails. May you continue to blossom like a summer flower and serve your country to the highest point of success,” said Ogwang, who also doubled as the Coordinator of PLU in Teso.

Allan Kasujja posted on X: “It just struck me that we first met 35 years ago. Wow! A General. A military scholar. A prayerful warrior. A poet. A dependable elder brother. Salute Kaka @mkainerugaba! 50 is a big deal!”
Cedric Babu noted: “Happy 50th birthday General @mkainerugaba my friend who became a brother and a leader. All those years ago when we were kids if someone asked me what you would become.”
He added: “I would have said Muhoozi is going to be a soldier. To see you as CDF is a great achievement amongst many others. I wish you the best today and pray that there will be many more years around the sun. Happy Birthday Ndugu General.”
