Singer and songwriter Sama Sojah has revealed that he has no plans to invite fellow artists to his introduction or wedding ceremonies.
Sama Sojah may not be walking down the aisle soon, but in an interview with Galaxy TV, he revealed that when the time finally comes, he will not have any artists or fans gracing the day.
Unlike other artists whose colleagues openly celebrate with them, Sama Sojah believes that such functions are private and should be attended by the bride and groom’s families. He noted that he would only be selecting a couple of his very close friends to accompany him.
“A wedding is personal and even when I decide to wed, I cannot invite fellow artists or even any of my fans. It is a family function. We misinterpret so many things. For example,a press conference is a meeting for journalists but there is one artist that got angry with me because I didn’t attend his press conference; he hadn’t even invited me. I told him I was not a journalist. That is the same thing as someone’s function,” he said.

From the norms and traditions that are done during functions, Sama believes they were to be held sacred and not exposed to people outside the family. He emphasized that when his time comes, he will choose those to attend based on how well he relates to them.

“You lose the right to everything on that day because they have to choose for you what you will eat, the plate you will use among other things. You wouldn’t want to bring everybody in a space like that,” he said.
