The Entebbe Municipality RDC Nalongo Rose Kirabira has warned the public to desist from blocking President Museveni’s convoy. RDC Kirabira who was addressing a Baraza (community meeting) in Abaita Ababiri, Katabi Town Council on Wednesday noted that these days people from different parts of the country have developed a habit of following and camping around Entebbe Municipal Council with intentions to block President Museveni’s convoy. She appealed to individuals and groups who have grievances and burning issues to avoid camping around Municipal council and instead seek guidance through the relevant authorities including her office if they want to meet the President. RDC Kirabira disclosed that individuals and groups who keep following President Museveni’s convoy will be treated as terrorists.
RDC Kirabira directed all the LC1 Chairpersons and Police to start registering all the residents in their areas and hold regular village security meetings because security threats have increased all over the country.
She noted that councilors and Community Development officers (CDOs) have put politics in the allocation of the Youth Livelihood (YLP) funds and as a result the funds are allocated to fake youth groups who squander the funds. Out of Shs72m that was allocated to youth groups in Katabi Town Council in the previous financial year, only Shs7m has been recovered.
