Celebrated producer Washington has revealed that he is still demanding money from East African Bashment Crew artists for the projects he did for them in the 2000s.
East African Bashment Crew was one of the hottest music groups around East Africa in the early 2000s, consisting of top artists: Bebe Cool, Nazizi, and Wyre.
They released some of the biggest songs that swept across the region, like Kube, Fire Anthem, Boom Shaka Tack, Africa Unite, among others.
During a recent interview, celebrated producer Washington, who was behind the boards for most, if not all, their songs, revealed that he was not fully paid for the work he did.
“I was just their producer and their business now doesn’t concern me. But I’m demanding them some money and they know it too. I know they will pay up because now they have got some money now,” he said.
The East African Bashment Crew was Bebe Cool’s idea with an aim of uniting the East African sound, and it was a very successful project even when it came to an end.

“There is a beginning and an end to everything. They came and performed very well with some of the biggest hits in the world that are still playing everywhere,” Washington said.
