Three candidates have been lined up to contest against the former chairman of the Kitooro trading centre market in Entebbe.
The trio including Kusambira Ronald and Mazembe Salim are battling with the former chairman Isabirye Marijan now seeking for another term in office.
“The former chairman popularly known as Black has been accused with lots of scandals including the down falling of the market saving scheme and mismanagement of the market affairs”, says report.
“He has messed up everything and turned into a commercial broker including the recent scandal into the allocation of shops and stalls in the new market facility that was officially launched last year by H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa”, said Samuel Seninde also aspiring vice chairperson.
“The outgoing chairman has no transparency and integrity to manage a multi billion shillings (shs24bn) market following his historical record and more so he has put in politics in managing market affairs”, noted Gyaviira Mutagizi also aspiring publicist.
‘The expired market management is evil and satanic that they have forgotten about the Muslim community which had a mosque on the former market facility”, said Muhammad Kakande also aspiring secretary for the market.
We have highly established that new market facility has a huge garbage problem caused by the both the market leadership and municipal authourities.
“We are not going to participate in any election without voter register updates and we have smelt a rat over rigging these elections”, said Kusambira.
“The electoral commission is ready to hold the elections in the coming few weeks and we hope to have successful elections”, said Frank Sekagiri also municipal official.
