Police in Kabalagala have raided, dismantled and also arrested five women on charges of running an online sex and pornography hub for commercial purposes which is contrary to the laws of Uganda.
According to police, this was after a task team in Kabalagala followed an intelligence on the illegal company for the last two weeks.
Addressing the press on Monday, Police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga said that they zeroed on a lady called Nakaziba Oliver who is said to be the proprietor of the illegal online sex and pornographic hub disguised as online model center.
Nakaziba was arrested with four other young women identified as Wainaro Esther, 18, Matovu Patricia, 18, Katusiime Mackline, 20, and Atim Rita, 25.
“You can see that these are young female adults who are being drawn into these acts of pornography. The intelligence we got indicated that she was also recruiting young children below 18 years into child pornography,” Enanga said.
He revealed that during the past two weeks, police officers managed to raid Nakaziba’s apartment in Kabalagala and arrested her for luring the young female adults into the sex trade and exposing their nudity online.
“We have managed to recover 5 CPUs, and they are undergoing forensic analysis to find out how many users have been able to log into her account because she was inviting people from the public into having private chats with the young girls and children,” he said.
It was revealed that these chats would go to the extent of sharing graphic images, exposing nudity, erotic pictures and dances which were captured on video and shared.
The pornography platform has been shut down for investigation.
Police also said they recovered sexual materials and other digital evidence.
Following the arrest, the law enforcement body warned all young females and males intending to involve themselves into such activities to desist from the urge.
The five suspects are still being processed at Kabalagala police pending to be charged in courts of law.
