Pepsi University Football League 2022:
Gulu 0-2 Uganda Martyrs
Uganda Martyrs University qualified for the knockout stage of the Pepsi University League for the 6th straight time in 6 seasons since 2015.
This followed a 2-0 win on the road against Gulu University in Gulu city on Tuesday, 31st May 2022.
Akbal Ssentongo and Ivan Agambire scored the two goals for the visitors in the second half.

Ssentongo’s goal arrived in the 53rd minute before Agamire, a player also registered at Entebbe Navigators netted the winner on the stroke of full time.
The victory ensured that Uganda Martyrs completed a double-over Gulu as they won the first leg 2-0 in Nkozi in April.
This result takes the former champions to the top of the table and in a comfortable position to qualify for the knockout stage.
“I thank God for the maximum points away from home. This is our first win on the road. Winning in Gulu is very important. We traveled early and prepared well. We did everything on time and shall thank the players for the job well done” Eric Kisuze, head coach of Uganda Martyr’s stated.
Gulu University head coach Robert Omony hailed the level of professionalism and energy injected into the game.
“Our team is composed of year ones. I thank them for the energy and professionalism exhibited. We are building a team. Besides, we are still in the race with six points collected and a game to go” Omony revealed.
Action in the Pepsi University League continues on Thursday, 2nd June 2022 with a Group B tie between Makerere University Business School and Muni University at Nakawa at 3pm.
